About Legacy Care Africa

Born from love. Grounded in heritage.
Built for the families we serve.

Legacy Care Africa is a group of companies rooted in Kenya โ€” Uzazi Wellness Care and Nyumbani Support Solutions โ€” bringing wholesome, dignified care to every family we serve, under one shared promise.

Our Founding Story

A homecoming that became a care movement

Legacy Care Africa began with a question two partners could not stop asking each other: Why is it so hard for families to access the kind of compassionate, professional care they deserve โ€” in their own homes, in their own languages, on their own terms?

Daniel Mwangi, working in the United States, saw firsthand how diaspora families struggled to arrange quality care for parents back home in Kenya. Peris Mwangi, on the ground in Nairobi, watched the same gap from the other side โ€” mothers without skilled postpartum support, elders sent home from hospitals with no follow-up, families exhausted and improvising.

And the economic reality has only made it harder. A single ICU night in a private Nairobi hospital can run between KSh 50,000 and KSh 250,000, and a three- to four-day admission with surgery, scans, and specialist fees routinely crosses the million-shilling mark. Families are paying significant portions out of pocket โ€” wiping out savings, draining chamas, and forcing impossible choices between rent, school fees, and a parent's recovery. For most Kenyan families today, care at home is no longer a preference. It is the only path forward that does not leave the family financially broken.

That reality lit the fire under us. Skilled, dignified care at home should not be a privilege of the wealthy โ€” it should be a practical option for every family doing their best to look after the people they love.

In 2022, they made the decision: instead of complaining about the gap, they would build the bridge themselves. Legacy Care Africa was incorporated as a group of care companies โ€” one that would launch focused, dedicated subsidiaries to meet each major need, while operating under shared values of dignity, warmth, and compassionate excellence.

Today, Legacy Care Africa is a group of companies rooted in Kenya, made up of Uzazi Wellness Care for maternal and birth care, and Nyumbani Support Solutions for in-home and recovery care โ€” across Kenya, growing across East Africa.

Mission & Vision

What we are building, and why

Our Mission

To deliver compassionate, dignified care that meets every family where they are โ€” making sure every person we serve feels seen, honored, and well cared for.

Our Vision

A continent where every family โ€” wherever they are, whoever they are โ€” receives care that feels like home. Every mother is held with dignity. Every elder is cared for with warmth. Every family is met where they are, with love.

Our Values

Four principles that shape every decision we make

Ubuntu

"I am because we are." Care does not happen in isolation โ€” it happens within family, community, and culture. We honor the whole web.

Dignity First

Every patient deserves to be addressed by name, in their language, with respect for their story. Dignity is not an extra โ€” it is the foundation.

Wholesome Excellence

Warmth never substitutes for skill. Our caregivers and nurses are deeply experienced, thoughtfully trained, and held to the highest professional standards โ€” with the care our families deserve.

African Pride

We honor the languages, foods, customs, and healing wisdom that shape our families โ€” and pair them with warm, professional care, not against it.
